REDEEMER FEASTS
MONDAY 31 AUGUST
WHERE IS IT?
We’re heading to Itchen Abbas & Avington Village Hall for the day, situated in the beautiful Itchen Valley in Hampshire it is just a 10 minute drive outside of Winchester. This is their website if you would like to check it out for : Itchen Abbas And Avington Village Hall | Itchen Abbas (iaavillagehall.co.uk)
PARKING
Itchen Abbas offer 30 parking spaces directly outside plus 2 disabled parking spaces outside the hall. However, we are aware that there will be more than 30 cars coming on the day. We will have parking stewards outside to direct you to the additional parking spaces as they have an arrangement with St John's Church, which is 175m across the road, to use their grass field.
WHEN IS IT?
Monday the 31st of August. We are asking everyone to arrive from 9:30am to have time to park and grab arrival refreshments and pastries then the first session will begin at 10:00am.
We will have two morning sessions with a refreshment break around 11am, finishing around 12:30pm. We’ll then feast together over a fantastic hog-ish roast, followed by an afternoon of fun and chat, with the day coming to an end by 3:30pm.
WHAT’S IN THE PROGRAMME?
FAMILY
We’re keen to spend time together especially as the church is growing so fruitfully- so there’ll be plenty of time in refreshment breaks and over the afternoon to get to know others in the church.
FOOD
Feasting together is one of the main themes of our day out as a church family- we will be providing pastries on arrival, a hot lunch and cake in the afternoon with all dietary requirements covered. There’ll also be plenty of tea and coffee across the day as well.
SINGING
The heart of Redeemer Feasts will be spending time together as God’s people learning to sing Psalms and worshipping together. Chris Evans is putting together a fantastic itinerary and will be sending out in advance some information about which Psalms we will be singing and to what tune- but no need to prepare as he will teach us everything we need to know on the day!
We will also be taking some time to look back in thankfulness to all the ways the Lord has blessed Redeemer in the last 2 years.
CHILDREN
The day is absolutely for all children. We won’t be running any formal children’s work, but the venue has a smaller room that parents of younger children are welcome to use any time, plus oustide space with a climbing frame. We’re very relaxed, so if you want to join the day later (mid-morning coffee break or lunch) - no problem. After lunch we’ll have the inflatables up and other activities for the children to enjoy.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
As there will be a hot lunch and cake served, we are asking for a small contribution towards this if you wish to partake:
£6 for adults, £3 for children over 3 years old with a max of £20 per family.
This is not paid in advance - simply make your contribution by contactless card payment on the day.
We want everyone to be there and therefore, if these prices are not be feasible for you at the present time, please do let us know in confidence if this is the case - let Jonny know by clicking here.
