We’re heading to Itchen Abbas & Avington Village Hall for the day, situated in the beautiful Itchen Valley in Hampshire it is just a 10 minute drive outside of Winchester. This is their website if you would like to check it out for : Itchen Abbas And Avington Village Hall | Itchen Abbas (iaavillagehall.co.uk)

PARKING

Itchen Abbas offer 30 parking spaces directly outside plus 2 disabled parking spaces outside the hall. However, we are aware that there will be more than 30 cars coming on the day. We will have parking stewards outside to direct you to the additional parking spaces as they have an arrangement with St John's Church, which is 175m across the road, to use their grass field.

WHEN IS IT?

Saturday the 18th of May. We are asking everyone to arrive from 9:15am to have time to park and grab arrival refreshments and pastries then the first session will begin at 9:45am.

We will have two morning sessions with a refreshment break around 11am, breaking for a 1pm lunch, followed by an afternoon of fun and games, with the day finishing by 4pm.

WHAT’S IN THE PROGRAMME?

FAMILY

We’re keen to spend time together especially as the church is growing so fruitfully- so there’ll be plenty of time in refreshment breaks and over the afternoon to get to know others in the church.

FOOD

Feasting together is one of the main themes of our day out as a church family- we will be providing pastries on arrival, a hot lunch and cake in the afternoon with all dietary requirements covered. There’ll also be plenty of tea and coffee across the day as well.

SINGING

The heart of Redeemer Feasts will be spending time together as God’s people learning to sing Psalms and worshipping together. Chris Evans is putting together a fantastic itinerary and will be sending out in advance some information about which Psalms we will be singing and to what tune- but no need to prepare as he will teach us everything we need to know on the day!

We will also be taking some time to look back in thankfulness to all the ways the Lord has blessed Redeemer in the 5 years since we have been planted here in Winchester.

CHILDREN

We are so blessed to have so many wonderful children at Redeemer and we are not running a separate childrens group so that we can enjoy being a full church family all together from the youngest to the eldest. Amanda will be preparing the children through Bible Bite over the weeks beforehand so that they know what to expect when singing Psalms but it will be our joy to have all the noise that having little ones in will bring.

However, we recognise that babies can be difficult to settle so we will set up an unmanned creche room that parents can utilise if needed.

FUN

We’re aiming to have an afternoon filled with some organised fun for everyone. We already have booked an inflatable obstacle course and have lots of ideas in the pipeline - watch this space!

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

As there will be a hot lunch and cake served, we are asking for a small contribution towards this if you wish to partake:

£6 for adults, £3 for children over 3 years old with a max of £20 per family.

This is not paid in advance - simply make your contribution by contactless card payment on the day.

We want everyone to be there and therefore, if these prices are not be feasible for you at the present time, please do let us know in confidence if this is the case - let Jonny know by clicking here.
