BIG DAY OUT

WHEN IS IT?

Sunday 7 June from 9:15am to 4pm. Big Day Out will replace our Sunday morning and Sunday evening services.

WHAT IS IT?

Our Annual Big Day Out is when we meet with the four other churches from Reach South – Christ Church Southampton, Cornerstone Church Portsmouth, Trinity Church Salisbury and Hope Church Chichester. The day is a mix of teaching; hearing encouragements from our sister churches, sharing time with each other over a picnic lunch and bouncing around on inflatables (that’s optional).

THE PLAN

09:15-9:30 – Arrival (with coffee/tea and cookies)

10:00 – Session One

11:15 – Coffee break

12:00 – Session Two

13:00 – Lunch (Bring your own picnic)

13:45 – Afternoon Activities

14:00 - Barnabas Aid talk by Bex Stupple

15:00 – Dumbrocks concert for the children

15:00 – Session Three

16:00 – Close

THE TEACHING

There'll be brilliant Bible teaching by Andy Mason (Director of Co-Mission in London) on Glorification from Revelation 21 and 22.

CHILDREN’S PROGRAMME

Redeemer children will be in their normal groups (with Discovers & Explorers combined) for the two morning sessions with Redeemer leaders looking after them. The first session will be like a normal Redeemer Kids with teaching from the Bible. The second session will be more craft and play. Then running alongside the final session will be a Dumbrocks Concert for all children, however, parents will be solely responsible for their children at the concert as there will not be any leaders there to supervise.

For Rooted, they will be sitting in on session one and during session two they will be going out with Amanda to discuss the teaching they just heard.

PICNIC

This year we are asking everyone to bring their own packed lunch to eat on the field together. We will provide some ice creams and drinks which will be available for all, however, we are asking in the sign up if you feel able for a small donation to cover refreshment costs for the day.

AFTERNOON ACTIVITIES

The organised activities on offer are football, volleyball, rounders, garden games, a walk and tug of war. But we will have the whole school field so feel free to bring your own games or just sit enjoy the hopefully sunny weather!

10ofthose are setting up a bookstall all day with us, so feel free to browse their books in any of the breaks.

For the children there will also be some inflatables which will be available to use from 1:30-2:45pm.

THE WHOLE DAY?

We would absolutely love everybody to be with us for the whole day, but if that seems too much – then please feel free to come just for the first session and treat it like you would a normal Sunday.

WHERE IS IT?

Wonderfully we don’t have to travel far. We are meeting at Thorndon School in Chandler’s Ford (SO53 2DW)

HOW MUCH IS IT?

It is free of charge to attend the Big Day Out, however, if you feel able to, there is an option on the sign up form to donate £2 per adult or £4 for a family, to go towards the costs of refreshments on the day.

HOW DO I SIGN UP?

To secure your place please fill in this form. You only need to fill in one form per family/couple, but please do include the details of all members of your party attending BDO.
