encounter JESUS, experience COMMUNITY, equipped for LIFE

Groups at Redeemer winchester

One of the best things about being a Christian is that Jesus brings us into a new family. At Redeemer Winchester we meet together at church on Sunday mornings, but we also want to enjoy being a family throughout the rest of the week.

There are lots of ways to do this, such as spending time together over a meal at someone’s house, helping each other out with practical jobs or reading the Bible and praying for each other in small groups.

Here are some of the ways you can get involved in family life at Redeemer Winchester:

90 weeks.

That's how long a typical university student will spend here in Winchester (minus the holidays). At Redeemer, we want to help you make the most of each one of those weeks.

During your short time with us, we pray that your faith will be deepened, your mind stretched and your Christian character more firmly established. More than that, we want to leave you trained and equipped for a lifetime of serving Jesus, whatever that may look like for you.

Here’s how you can get involved:

SUNDAY GATHERINGS: It's easy to hide in the student bubble and miss out on the real experience of a mixed, supportive spiritual family. At Redeemer Winchester we encourage students to get stuck in at our family gatherings on Sunday mornings. Some of our students help out by playing music, setting up tech equipment, looking after babies in the morning crèche, serving tea and coffee, or welcoming visitors on the door.

STUDENT CONNECT: Student Connect is a group just for students at 6:30pm each Sunday during term time. We meet at the home of Jonny and Laura Clifton for a good meal together, and then get into smaller groups for Bible study and prayer. Student Connect finishes at about 8.30pm.

ONE TO ONES: Many students find it helpful to meet up one to one with an older Christian to read the Bible and pray together. It’s a great chance to get to know someone who's a bit further down the track in the Christian life. If you’d like to meet up one to one with an older Christian, we’ll try to partner you with someone we think you'll click with.

If you’re a woman and you’re free on Friday mornings, we’d love to see you at Redeemer Women. We meet every Friday from 9:45 until 11:15am in homes across Winchester. After catching up over coffee and cake we spend time discussing God’s Word as we think about topics from the Sunday morning sermon series.

Anyone is welcome to join us. Whether you already consider yourself a Christian, or whether you are investigating Christianity for the first time; whether you’re a mum, a shift worker, between jobs or retired, we’d love to see you there. Children are welcome to come along and play in the creche too. If you’d like to find out more, please email Laura.

LIVING LIFE TOGETHER: Joining a Redeemer Connect group is one of the best ways to get involved in our church family life. Redeemer Connect groups are small groups which meet up regularly, usually at someone’s house, to study the Bible together and pray for each other.

In these smaller groups, we can get to know each other better, care for each other and encourage each other to keep growing as Christians. As we live our lives together and learn from God’s Word, we’re being changed into the people God wants us to be.

If you’re interested in joining a Connect group, please email Jonny.
